Upgrade to Dedicated Server
February 11, 2005
We are proud to announce our upcoming move from a shared hosting environment to a dedicated server. Customer’s websites will be relocated to the new server by the end of February.
"We have recently experienced some downtime as a result of high server loads,” said Watersweb owner, Michelle Waters. “Our sites were hosted on a server with 500 other sites, resulting in noticable slowness. With the new servers, we will no longer experience slow or down times as the result of activity by other sites. We should experience a significant increase in speed and uptime."
After the move, only Watersweb client sites will reside on the server, which features a Intel Celeron 2.4, Red Hat Linux operating system, Apache web server, two 80 GB IDE hard drives, Cpanel control panel and 512 MB RAM. The server will be housed in a secure datacenter in Jacksonville, Florida, providing redundant, uninterruptible power system; redundant temperature and humidity controls; dry fire suppression system; multi-layer, redundant configuration network; and backup generator industry standard security systems.
